"Live to Rise" is a song by the American rock band Soundgarden, that was released by Hollywood Records on iTunes and other digital music stores on April 17, 2012 with iTunes offering a free download of the single for the first week of availability. The track is featured in the film The Avengers and is included on Avengers Assemble: Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture. It is the first Soundgarden song to be both fully recorded and released since the band reformed in 2010, as "Black Rain" was partly recorded in the early 1990s. The single has been described as a "riff-heavy rocker" that, according to Chris Cornell, would "work just fine" on the band's then-upcoming album King Animal, even though it did not necessarily represent the entire album's sound. Despite earlier speculation, "Live to Rise" never appeared on King Animal.

Lyrics
What if all you understand
Could fit into the center of our hand?
Then you found it wasn't you
Who held the sum of everything you knew
We're insane but not alone,
You hold on and let go
Like the sun we will live to rise
Like the sun we will live and die and then ignite again
Like the sun we will live to rise again
What if the one thing that I missed
Was everything I need to pass the test?
And if I fail what happens then?
Can I still count on you as a friend?
We're insane but not alone,
You hold on and let go
Like the sun we will live to rise
Like the sun we will live and die and then ignite again
Like the sun we will live to rise again, again, again, again.
Warm my face
Warm your face
Warm my face
Warm your face
Warm my face
Warm your face
Warm my face
Warm your face
Warm my face
Warm your face
Like the sun we will live to rise
Like the sun we will live and die and then ignite again
Like the sun we will live to rise
Like the sun we will live and die and then ignite again
Like the sun we will live to rise again, again.
